Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Matthew Moneymaker:

I spoke with Eddie Watley by phone. He is a grandfather and welder for local mills and plants. He is a lifelong resident of this area.

He came within 50-60 feet of ta 7+ foot tall Sasquatch crossing a dirt road lined with dense pine trees for a paper mill.

Coincidentally, the recent report from outside Buna TX was also adjacent to paper mill land with the same type of dense young pines. Deer like to bed down in these dense pine thickets. Within those pine thickets deer enjoy great protection from wind and sun, and the crunchy ground allows them to hear anything large approaching their bedding areas.

And like with the Buna case, there is a power line route running to Toledo Bend Dam. See graphics below. The power line route from Buna, TX connects through unpopulated areas to Toledo Bend Dam, and then continues all the way up passed this sighting location to Natchitoches Louisiana.

Finding Bigfoot filmed much of one episode in the zone roughly at mid point along that red line in the second map graphic below. We filmed our townhall meeting in Many. Bobo shot scenes with a witness just below Toledo Bend Dam.

After this witness told me the color of the bigfoot he saw, I asked him to step into the woods where he saw it and tell me the color of the pine duff piles under the trees. He said the color of pine duff was similar to the fur color he saw — russet brown. The soil and dust around there is a similar color. Both turn more russet brown when wet.

Between the red clay dust and the reddish pine duff particles, this environment may be affecting the tinge of the skin and fur of any animals bedding down under those dense young pines.

Eddie provided a photo of the pine duff on the ground. He also provided a photo showing the deer trail opening where this figure stepped into the woods and disappeared.

This report, along with several others we have heard or received over the years, suggests that paper mill tree farms in this region may be hunting and sleeping areas for Sasquatches. The mono-culture of tree plantation pines would not provide adequate forage for deer. Deer would need to emerge from these pine thickets to browse in grassy fields or hardwood (acorns) patches of forest. But they would return to these dense thickets of pine to bed down during the day, to be in shade, to get out of cold winds day or night.

Based on other sighting reports from near power lines in hilly terrain like this, the best place to look for the 8-10 foot diameter fox hole nests that sasquatches will make from piles of grass or pine duff, would be just inside the treeline of a powerline route, and on a slope where the mowed easement ascends a hill, so a sasquatch only needs to roll over in its nest to poke its head out from the treeline in order to look down along a long stretch of the easement under the power lines, giving it a view of deer herds in the distance.

There's an area just like that not from from this sighting location.

I think this report is imporant for several reasons. One reason is that it shows the likely route for the sasquatches from the Many & Kitsachie NF area (the portion 15 miles south of Natchitoches) to the Sam Houston National Forest and Big Thicket by way of Buna.

This first image below shows Eddie standing at the spot where he saw the sasquatch cross the road in front of his car Notice the dense tree cover on both sides of the road.

The next image below was taken by Eddie standing on the road looking into the woods along the deer trail that the sasquatch walked into when it left Eddie's view. He says this undergrowth was much more green and full of briars at the time.

This next image shows the piles of pine duff under the nearby trees around the sighting location. Both sasquatches and deer will use this material for bedding.

Witnesses in much of the south and west describe the fur color of sasquatches in various ways for the same color. One of the ways they describe it is "deer colored", It could be that both deer and bigfoots are affected by the color of the environment, either evolved by selection to blend in better, or more directly from the dust and pine debris particals coating their fur and skin.

Anyone who has spent many days camping in dusty red clay areas without a shower will tell you how the red dust will get embedded in your skin and hair and clothes after a while. This is what gave some indian tribes the nickname "red skins". It is the same red dust that will make your skin red if you have it all over your body all the time.
